The label magazine is very broad and encompasses a large range of different media, from print to purely digital forms. It is usually factual, though magazines are more opinionated than newspapers and often don't present things from an unbiased viewpoint. Another difference between magazines and newspapers is that newspapers are time sensitive - the issues in them will be irrelevant very quickly, often within a day - whereas the issues in magazines are written to be interesting and relevant up to, and often exceeding, a month from the publication's release. Magazines are heavily image based, and some magazines have very little text at all. As a general rule, the more gossip focused the magazine the more text it will have, but it varies with the genre of magazine. The purpose of magazines is primarily to entertain the audience, though often it will have a secondary purpose to inform or persuade the audience.
